This is such an important message. I tend to allow work to dominate my life as I leave too little time for rest and play! Thanks for the timely reminder, friend! Perfect going into the week ahead of me!

Loved how you talked of balance here and proved the Jesus was not all work. We can't earn anything from God. He already gives His love, grace, mercy, and power freely through our accepting of Jesus as our Lord and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in and through us. If we don't balance things out and see it all as striving work, we've missed what life is all about. We shouldn't be surprised when we are too tired, discouraged, or angry that life isn't working out if we aren't properly balanced.

Of course, we are all humans living in a fallen world with the ability to be distracted by the next shiny idea or thing that supposedly helps us elevate our status and satisfaction somehow. I still have another decade of life before I can say I spent half of it with Jesus. I wish I had done so sooner, but then again that would have totally changed my story and couldn't reach who God has meant me to. When we let Him be the pilot leading us into how life is meant to be, amazing things happen.

Thanks for sharing this Kristen. No matter how close we think we are walking with Jesus, we need reminders about the basics so we don't get pulled off His grid by distractions and misconceptions.
